Welcome to TENTS
(Training and
Equipping in New Testament Service)
Aristotle once said,
“Excellence is an art won by training and habituation.” This is
what exactly TENTS is committed for – training and
equipping God’s people for excellent ministry. And this
is why we believe God has given various leaders to the church -
“equipping the saints for ministry” (Eph. 4:12).
The greatest problem in
the church as a whole—it has lost its nature and purpose as
God’s ministering people. The church today has cultivated
unbiblical perspectives about ministry. In our day church and
ministry are understood as completely distinct—church as
either a structure or a weekly gathering of believers to worship
and listen to a sermon, and ministry is what the leaders
are exclusively called to do to the church. Due to this narrow
perspective, the people of God in general have become completely
passive, with only few being active in the Lord’s work. It is
heart breaking to see God’s army sleeping and slumbering in the
battlefield.
It is our strong
conviction that if the kingdom of God is going to be advanced in a
mighty way, it happens not just through the professional Christian
leaders, but through the ministry of the whole people of God—i.e.
the church (believers and leaders). Hence, our passion is
twofold:
• Motivating
believers to know their privilege in being called to be the
co-workers of the Sovereign LORD to fulfill His divine will.
• Training
leaders to equip the believers so that they would become
instruments of ministry rather than just objects of ministry.
The Living God has
commissioned every individual in the church to pray and
to be a part of His ministry, declaring His excellencies and
bringing His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven (1 Pet. 2:9;
Matt. 6:9-10). Therefore, TENTS stands for the doctrine and
practice of every-member ministry for the glory of the
Living God (1 Pet. 4:10-11). We invite you to be a part of this
glorious mission.
